BG Freight Line is adding an extra sailing between Rotterdam and the UK. From the 24th of January, BG Freight Line will introduce a third weekly departure from the Dutch port to Grangemouth

The additional sailing from Rotterdam resulted from customer demand, said John Hie, UK Representative, BG Freight Line. The Rotterdam market is growing he explained, attributing this to better connections from the port.

“There appear to be better hinterland connections in terms of new barges, new rail services and there are road network development taking place as we speak.”
Additionally BG’s headquarters are based in Rotterdam, he added.

“We have customers who were routing traffic via Hamburg that have now decided to re-route via Rotterdam,” he said adding:
“Grangemouth-Rotterdam is quicker than Grangemouth-Hamburg.”

The third sailing is showing BG’s confidence in the UK market served via the port of Grangemouth, the company added.

Departures from Rotterdam will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Departures from Grangemouth will be on Thursday, Saturday and Monday
