MacAndrews enhances UK sea connections to Northern Europe

MacAndrews have initiated a direct call to Tilbury into their container service between Poland and UK. In addition to that, they intend to add a call to Tilbury to Gothenburg, Sweden in February this year.

Since October they have operated one ship into Hull and one ship into Tilbury. Apparently the decision was taken following customer demand and will allow the company to offer a port to port transit time of approximately 60 hours to both UK locations as well as maintaining two sailings per week from Poland to the UK. MacAndrew's believes the Tilbury call will prove very competitive when compared to overland trucks, enabling more users of freight services to switch more traffic from road to sea.

This latest development will allow MacAndrews to grow the Tilbury gateway and build volumes from Poland to the south coast of the UK, as well as develop a common hub linking Poland with their Iberian Services to both Spain and Portugal.
