North Sea RoRo expect to continue to grow volume on UK/Scandinavia route

North Sea RoRo Line has announced that an agreement has been concluded with the owner of the two RoRo vessels, presently operating on the service, to prolong the Charter Party agreement to the end of 2013.

Managing Director of North Sea RoRo AB, Dan Ericsson, remarked: “The prolongation of the agreement with the vessel’s owner was part of our planned strategy from day one and we’re pleased to have concluded this now. It sends a strong message to the market place that North Sea RoRo’s performance is on track and we’re developing and progressing in line with our expectations".

North Sea RoRo started operations in January this year operating two modern roll-on, roll-off vessels three times per week between the ports of Gothenburg and Killingholme,Humber.

The service handles trailers, lift-units, mobile units, cars and industrial cargoes. It also has capacity for driver accompanied units on each of its sailings.

Sales & Marketing Director Peter Kleberg also commented: “Since we commenced the service volume growth has been to our expectation despite the economic downturn in theUK. We’ve responded well to the difficult trading conditions brought about by the UK Jubilee celebrations, bank and summer holidays plus the Olympics. We’re happily in a favourable position to continue our volume growth and meet the demands of the Swedish market who in particular, have fully embraced the choice created by North Sea RoRo. Our transport service is seen withinScandinaviaas a dawn of a new era.”
